夏の始まり
だいぶん前の事になるけど、モスバーガーの○周年記念キャンペーンで
ひまわり栽培セットをもらった。小さな箱の中には、ちゃんと植木ばちも土もついていて、
めんどくさがり屋なあたしにも、とってもお手軽で簡単そうに思えた。
しばらくたつと、3個のたねのうち2個が腐って、残りの1個から二葉がでた。
十分手をかけていないとはいえ、やっぱり出てくれるとうれしい。
おおげさだけど、新しい命の誕生はやっぱり興奮する。
今までより、めーいっぱいお日様の光が届く場所に移動した。
このひまわりが大きくなるにつれて、きっとあたしは夏を実感して過ごすんだろうと。
それまたしばらくして、二葉はひからびていた。
4枚になったばかりの小さなはっぱは完全にひからびていた。
2日、水をあげるのをすっかり忘れていたことに気がついて、
それでも何とか再生してほしいと、たっぷり水をあげてみた。
次の日は雨。ひまわりは再生せず。
しばらく呆然とながめて、とりあえず、雨のあたる場所に移動した。
あたしの夏の始まりはとてもエキセントリックに過ぎていこうとしている・・・
